FS: 1999 Ducati 748 Biposto – 11,946 mi – ZDM1SB3R1XB011001 – $8,300.00

The original owner worked in the industry at a local Ducati shop and purchased the 748 new. He performed most of the mods himself with the help of a few Ducati experts. The second owner purchased in 2001 and continued the build out with the guidance of the original owner. Together 15 years ago, they performed a frame up build at 7,600 miles. We are led to believe the 855cc motor that was built by Mark Sutton (DucShop), but we have not found written verification. This 748 also received a full 52mm arrow exhaust and lots of tasteful upgrades, check out the build history below.

Totally un damaged, no sloppy workmanship anywhere to be found on this super clean timeless Ducati Superbike. . The 2nd owner sold the bike in August of 2008 with 10,192 miles on the clock. Current owner titled it and put approximately 1700 miles on it his first year, tabs expired, maintenance became due, life changes happened and bike was parked in his climate controlled storage since 2009. This gorgeous 748 will come with owner’s manual, build and service records, some original parts, and 1 key.

It seems that the more we stare at this beautiful 748 Superbike the more upgrades we spot! On top of the obvious ones listed and spotted like Ohlins rear, 5 Spoke Marchesini wheels and full Arrow exhaust, we also see…

998 Brembo Snowflake Front Brake Rotors
Evoluzione clutch slave
Euro headlight switch
Upgrade rear suspension strut
Nice high gloss quality carbon bits
That real not “painted” magnesium inner clutch housing is so rare it’s not even funny!

For those who are not familiar with the 748 lineage, this is the first gen 748. This really was the true little blood brother to the iconic 916 in every sense other than displacement and rear tire size. It retained all the technical features of the Tamburini designed 916 like adjustable steering head angle, dzus fasteners to easily remove the fairings, quick disconnect lines on the tank. In 2000 Ducati introduced 2 new models the 748S which stood for Sport and the 748E which stood for Economia. The S was a continued copy of the beloved 748/916 series with the addition of 5 spoke wheels and TiN coated front fork tubes. The E retained the 3 spoke wheels and gave up the coolest features like dzus fasteners and easy disconnect fuel lines. No more adjustable steering head angle option either. Great price point but lost some luster IMO. This 1999 version is the real deal, only change from the first introduction in 1997 is the Ducati logo and font.
